Physical Profile - James Tarkov is a 28-year-old male, standing at about 6’0 (1.8288m) and weighing around 199 pounds (90.2649kg). He has brown eyes, and a black buzz cut (which, by his account, has been “growing slightly, just give it time!”). Tarkov’s build is generally slimmer than the average MTF Operative, given his agileness and dexterity. When off-duty, Tarkov usually wears a zip-up sweatshirt, jeans, and sneakers. If he has, quote, “someone to impress,” he wears a dress shirt, tie, khakis, and brown dress shoes. Other than this, his wardrobe remains stagnant. James has a tattoo of the words “in pedibus primum infernum,” or, “feet first into hell,” on this right shoulder.
Psychological Profile - James is a very ecstatic and charismatic sort of character. Social from a young age, James prides himself on, quote, “always gaining a few friends along the way.” He’s always able to crack a joke in even somewhat desperate situations, and seemingly nothing really gets him down. Though, on the contrary, James can sometimes, out of the blue, become this semi-serious, mature adult, straying away from his usual joking manner. During missions, he seems empathetic to the people he kills, as if he never really wanted to kill them. If time agrees, he always tries to take their dog tags, and hold onto them, as a sign of respect. Oftentimes after or sometimes during missions, James seems distant, and depressed. He’s refused professional help, saying, “It’s a normal reaction.”
Pre-Foundation History: James Peter Tarkov was born on July 9th, 1991, to Joseph and Maggie Tarkov, in the city of London, England. Tarkov’s family had experience in the military, and his father expected him to join once he was of age. His father placed him through rigorous training in order to make sure that he was ready when the time came. By the time he was 17, Tarkov wanted to skip the military and get a college degree but knew that his father wanted him to follow tradition. But the thing is, James did not want to kill. He’s willing to help others, but killing was just something that was dreadful to him. The 3 seconds it takes to shoot a man down immediately cancels out the many years of life the man had. The friends, the family, the soul, gone with the push of a trigger. But he understood, in a split second, the kill or be killed rule applies. That man, like him, was bred for war, and willing to die and fight for his country. Because of this, James considered it an honorable death. So begrudgingly, he accepted.
Military History: At 18, he joined the British Army. He served in the infantry until he was 22 years old, where he was transferred to the No. 1 Parachute Training School. After successfully completing the course, he was awarded his wings and beret. He was transferred to the 16th Air Assault Brigade and assigned to the 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment (2 PARA). Tarkov was in the Battalion for 3 years before the Foundation caught note of him, and deemed him fit for duty due to his marksmanship, agility, and strength, as seen from training exercises.
Foundation History: Once he joined the Foundation, James was exposed to more dilemmas, which made him significantly contemplate quitting. On one hand, everything he does now is in secret. He can’t live a normal life anymore. His job description, friends, squad, hell, even his employer, covered with thick black ink. He can’t tell anyone. His life was classified. And another thing, he was now working on more urban fronts. He’s more than willing to die for others, but at first, putting his life on the line for a faceless regime, of which he’s not even allowed for an explanation for, seemed unheard of. He heard their spiel, “die in the dark so you can live in the light.” He read the files on hostile GoIs. He understood that everything he’d be doing from now on was now a lot more ambiguous. But it was an opportunity. Not only was the pay and insurance plan great, but he was literally saving the world. But still, he felt like a pawn in a bigger game. Nevertheless, Tarkov accepted. The cons were pretty large, but it was the best chance Tarkov would get to do more. He was originally considered for Mobile Task Force Eta-0 but was denied, due to his lack of medical experience. He was instead transferred to the Italian branch of Mobile Task Force Pi-20, due to his ability to perform in close/mid-ranged combat. Later, he was transferred to Site-42 in 2017 and now acts under Pi-20 Commander Jack Eiden. Outside military life, James prides himself on his ability to stay active, usually spending his free time hiking. He’s found the move to San Francisco relaxing, and enjoys walking through the city, and its parks. James is openly bisexual, yet doesn’t mention it much. If he’s ever had a relationship with someone, he hasn’t told anyone.
Hello again! This is just a quick transfer of my character, James P. Tarkov, from google docs to the wiki. The photo is from Bungie's "We Are ODST" Trailer for Halo 3: ODST, a spinoff of the Halo series. I don't expect to use this character too much, probably only for missions and stuff. But other than that, enjoy!
Also, here's my hub page! It's got everyone I've created, with more soon to come.
